DOMAINE DE LUCH
History and Geography
With its 88 hectares, Domaine de Luch is one of the biggest domains in the sector of Béziers. Near the Oppidum of Ensérune, and bordered by the Canal du Midi, it was acquired by the Bonfils family in 2002.
The magnificent park situated in front of the chateau is classed as being of special historic interest. Created in 1897, and redesigned in 1904, the design cleverly follows the lie of the land and contains many rare trees and plant species.
The Vineyard and its Terroir
The vines grow deep in a mostly limestone clay earth with alluvial deposits, and benefit from excellent sunshine exposure. The domain possesses vast wine cellars, typical of the architectural movement in the Beziers region between 1860 and the First World War.
It is now equipped with modern equipment in strong contrast to the building’s original style at the period of construction.
