DOMAINE MAS DE LA TOUR
History and Geography
Domaine Mas de la Tour covers 60Ha east of the Ensérune oppidum between the Montady tower and the belvedere at Beziers, and was purchased by the Bonfils family in 1974.
Remarkable for its large round tower from which is gets its name and its attractive park with its orangery and winter garden.
The Vineyard and its Terroir
The domain sits on a limestone clay plateau where the arid climate is attenuated by the influence of the nearby Mediterranean sea. A feature of this terroir is a layer of volcanic rock at a depth of 1.5 metres which prevents the vine roots from penetrating.
The installation of an irrigation system remedied the problem of hydric stress which previously affected these vines.
